Coney Island Love is a series inspired by sights & sounds of the great Coney Island Amusement Park & Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. On this 12" you'll hear Jazzy horn sections mixed with the various Dancehall sounds in Haaksman + Haaksman's "Bucovina" Remix. N.O.H.A.'s "Balkan Hot Step," sounds like a Boban Markovic soundtrack mixed with a fat steppin beat. Both A side tracks have been fun dancefloor fillers for months! The street sounds in Nickodemus & Osiris's remix of "Tanguedia 3" packs the funk & gives Tango a completely different NYC edge. Lastly, The Spy from Cairo's Romanian/ Indian Gypsy Dub "All is One" is an exclusive track that adds to the Neptune Ave vibes on this first CONEY ISLAND LOVE 12".

Shantel: With several albums (K7, Infracom, Shadow & Essay) ranging from Trip-Hop, Dub, Funk, Minimal, this great producer proves he can do it all. Now with great Bucovina Club, German born Stephan Hantel traces back his Romanian Gypsy roots & makes one of the best compilations fusing the past & present in Eastern European Gypsy Music.

*Haaksman + Haaksman, a family duo from the Essay Recording Label, turn out a funky Dancehall meets Soca in the Balkans mix. For more music from Felix Haaksman, check out the Dutch Rhythm Combo.

N.O.H.A. Although their album is very different from this track, this interesting group of musicians works samples into their live playing very well. This track comes from the Unique Records release entitled "Next Plateau."

Astor Piazzolla: What can one say about a man so deeply rooted in Music? Fusing all the deep & melancholy emotions of Tango, Jazz & Classical into a sound based around the Bandoneon (Accordion), one can get a glimse into the music & the life of such a great musician. The Spy From Cairo: Although we cannot reveal his true identity, we can say that The Spy From Cairo is independently operating under many aliases to spread good vibes & introduce new Music throughout the World. An interesting tip is that he slipped this exclusive track off to a WonderWheel Recording representative by placing it underneath a Tottono's Small Pizza Pie on Neptune Avenue.
